Astrophytum Asteria Variegated
Caring for Astrophytum asteria Variegated requires patience, as this plant is a slow bloomer and may not reach its full potential for several years. Keep this cactus regularly watered (allowing it to dry out between waterings) and lightly fertilized during its growing season, and then repot it annually to allow more room for development
Origin: A variegated cultivar of Astrophytum asterias.
Description: The Astrophytum Asteria Variegated is small cactus with a solitary glabrous stem lacking the white tufts of hairy scales typical of the common Astrophytum asterias. The smooth appearance show up the felty areoles. These variegated varieties have sectors, patches or stripes with distinct shades of yellow.
Care: They do best in bright conditions, but cannot tolerate prolonged exposure to sunlight, especially during the hot summer months. They require regular watering in growing season and need a fairly dry winter to avoid root rot, so should be planted in a well draining soil mixture.
